Founded in 2005, Torridon Solutions was set up to design, create and distribute practical and innovative software for the world of planning, project management and management communication. Swiftlight is Torridon Solutions’s flagship product.
The goal from the outset was to develop software that would be appealing to a “general management” audience (e.g. marketing or brand managers, senior executives, operations or planning managers, management consultants etc), as well as to more specialist project managers.
The company has used a extensive team of graphic design, usability, project management and communication experts, in addition to the core development and management team, in the design, development and testing of the software.

Peter McWhinnie is a founder and the CEO of Torridon Solutions. An experienced senior executive, he started his career with 7 years at Exxon, before pursuing an MBA and then spending 10 years in strategy consulting where he was a Partner with the Monitor Group.
He has been involved in planning and in projects all his professional life, both in consulting and “in the real world” of industry. He has worked at all levels of a project team – as team member, project leader, partner / Steering Committee member – and this broad and practical “users” experience has informed the design and development of Swiftlight.
He holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in Chemistry from Oxford University, and earned his MBA with distinction from INSEAD, France.
As the COO of Torridon Solutions, Mike Scott brings a unique mix of strategic and technical insight to the Torridon Solutions team, having 12 years of software development experience as well as working as a senior strategy consultant at the Monitor Group.
Mike is an expert in user interface design and has advised many blue chip companies in North America, Europe and Southern Africa on the design of software which aims to simplify key business processes and align teams for success. The key philosophy behind this success is a focus on “clarity in communication” which is also at the heart of Swiftlight.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Pure and Applied Physics from the University of Nottingham, and is a certified PRINCE2 practitioner.
